Premier League Round-up: Defeat for £63 million debutants
Record signings find themselves on the losing sides and turmoil is compounded by defeat at Newcastle.
Dimitar Berbatov and Robinho suffered debut defeats as Manchester United and Manchester City lost 2-1 against Liverpool and Chelsea respectively.

Elsewhere, Zaki scored a second-half equaliser to give Wigan a 1-1 draw with Sunderland and, with first-half goals from Zoltan Gera and Bobby Zamora, Fulham touched a high of [2.36] as they ran out 2-1 winners against Bolton.
There was value in four Premier League sending offs today with Nemanja Vidic’s red matched at [8.0], John Terry’s at [6.8], Danny Guthrie’s at [6.2] and Lee Cattermole’s at [5.7].
After todays results Chelsea are [2.12] favourites to win the Premier League followed by Manchester United are out to [3.85]. After their victories Arsenal are [7.6] with Liverpool at [8.4].
